Well, I got about a week left with my Lightroom trial period and already Im thinking about how much Im going to miss it. I love this program, the RAW batching is friggin awesome, and the adjustments in levels, curves, saturation, vibrance, and such just blew everything I knew about altering colors out of the water. The ease and overall look of this thing is simply stunning.

Ive got a new job tomorrow and for a while now Ive been trying to decide which new camera gear to get first from my wishlist, but now Im strongly considering spending a chunk of the first paycheck on this program.

If you got the trial version, how soon did you get the program after it ended?

(Not how soon did you get the program when it first came out)

I didn't even get the trial, honestly...

I had been using the betas, and each was subsequbntly better, so I knew 1.0 would be at least as good. It was a hard decsion, because I don't part with $200 that easily. But using a discount code brought it to $170... and considering it would jump to $300 at the end of April - AND that more updates are likely on the way, I decided there was no time like the present. (Hard to part with $170... but I'd never have done it for $300!)

That was my reasoning, but in the end, each needs to decide for themselves.

I used two beta versions of LR, and bought the v1.0 as soon as it was released.
It's a keeper.

You make me feel like I've spent waaay too much money on software! ;) Which I'm sure would be close to $1K if I sat down and added it all up just for this year alone.

LR is worth the cost of admission IMHO. I think it's worth the $299 it would normally cost, so $169.95 is a killer deal. With that said, I don't feel at all bad about spending only $95 for the academic version. ;)

The second the trial was up...despite its various flaws I just couldn't live without it!

Yeah, I'm cheap... I know. ;) Got out of debt recently, and don't want to start again, so I save up for all my purchases now.... well, I TRY, to. :) ; makes you think about what you really want, and what you can get by with... that's why you'll always see me touting the cheap way to do things

I ordered the EDU version about halfway through my trial. Due to the shipping delivery date I had to wait a few extra days before it arrived so I had 3 days left on my trial when I used my serial number.
