Lightroom - Won't write to desktop folder

I've looked a lot of places for this and with no luck. I am going to guess it's a bug in Lightroom.

With Vista Home Premium, I try to export to the desktop folder called "end result". Every other program I have including CS2 can write to this folder. All permissions are properly set and I am logged in as administrator.

I get the following error:

"the specified folder is not writable"

I'll continue to look into this and if I find a solution I'll post it here.

Testing confirms this:

Lightroom cannot write (or has issues) to a folder that has a custom icon.

Sorry to sound dumb - but do you mean ANY folder that has had an icon assigned to it?

How strange.

By default, Windows creates an icon for the My Pictures folder. I now can't browse to My Pictures as my top level folder. In 1.0 I had no problem with it.

Is there a way to remove that default icon? I've searched the web and can't find one.
