My eyes keep getting drawn to the two people on the bottom right (probably the red in a mostly green picture). So then the tree trunk isn't adding much to the composition. 1DmkIII and some lenses

One problem for me is the lack of a top or bottom. The way it's cropped, even the people are cut off at the knees. This may be a case of the intended subject (the tree) being just to big for the camera/lens/perspective as shot. It's as if you were showing us a building by taking a shot of the middle 2 3/4 stories. It's lacking in context. A B&W guy in an RGB world!
