I have a ton of macro images on my FTP that I want to put on my website (www.airbrontosaurus.com). I was using the Gallery 2.0 software to make my galleries, but it was as slow as January molasses and crashed a lot. So, I'm redoing the site with basic html, and then I'll update parts of it as I go along to make it more professional.

However, since I'm not using any gallery software, I need to do everything by hand. This isn't too bad for the design, but for thumbnails it's a real drag. I have over 100 pictures in just one of my galleries; I simply can't take the time to link every low-res thumbnail with it's full-res image.

So, I was wondering if there is a way to have a batch program that (1) opens a file from the ftp. (2) resizes it and renames it. (3) reloads it back to the ftp. and (4) automatically links it to the original image. That way I don't have to manually link every image.

I have access to Dreamweaver 8 and Fireworks 8, but I can't seem to find a batch program within them that allows me to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks. I actually am using simpleviewer, which is a nifty (free) flash app to make galleries. It does all the work for me, and does a great job.
