Hmmm have you done much PP? It either looks like you ahve substituted the background or oversharpened. Those edges don't seem to look right?

Did you try runing s/h on the shadow area? Other then the dark patch this is an excellent image of a bird I might just might be able to shoot this summer when I visit Nova Scotia.

Very nice Sindri! The shadows add character and contrast but the eye could have been in the light. JMHO
