I have a 400D with the 18-55 lens. I would be very grateful if you could suggest my next couple of lenses.

I enjoy taking landscape photography as well as nice close ups (macro), i am also getting into sports photography.

thanks

*on an aside, ive seen lots of photos with completely white backgrounds, is this all in the set up or is it edited after?

Edited after. Work with what you have for now, and then think about what range/capability you are missing. Probably start with something like the 70-200 or 70-300IS for outdoor sports, maybe the 85/1.8 for indoor sports. I use the 70-200/2.8 for indoor bball and night soccer, and it is excellent but I have to push the ISO up to 3200. For landscapes if your 18-55 isn't wide enough consider the 10-22 or tokina 12-24.

Current: 5DM3, 6D, 8mm fish, 24-105/4IS, 35/2IS, 70-200/2.8IS, 85/1.8, 100-400/IS v1, lensbaby composer with edge 80, 580's and AB800's
Formerly: 80D, 7D, 300D, 5D, 5DM2, 20D, 50D, 1DM2, 17-55IS, 24-70/2.8, 28-135IS, 40/2.8, 50/1.8, 50/1.4, 70-200/4IS, 70-300IS, 70-200/2.8, 100 macro, 400/5.6, tammy 17-50 and 28-75, sigma 50 macro & 100-300

It's hard to suggest a lens without what your specific needs and budget are. What kind of sports are you shooting?

About the white bkg... It's achieved different ways. When done correctly in a studio, usually no editing will be needed. The idea is to get enough light on the white area to cause it to register as pure white. Completely blowing out the white area is a surefire way of doing it. However, if the white does not appear totally white, then some simple editing can finish the task.

I agree with timbop. I'd check into the canon 10-22mm, sigma 10-20mm, or tokina 12-24mm for landscapes. These are all wide angle lenses and provide you with a unique perspective; great for landscapes. Personally, I love mine.
