So there were more than just the BNCH's at the Baylands on Sunday as I'm sure most of you saw in Rob's post. I sort of dedicated the earlier thread to the BNCHs that were the more the predominant species out there that day, but there were, of course, many others. There were a whole lot of Barn Swallows and a few Cliff Swallows zooming about, but those little guys are waaaay to fast for me, so I didn't even try to catch them in flight.
However I did catch a few egrets in flight - much easier! A lot of these images were taken with my 400mm f/5.6L, hand held. The 500mm shots were all on the Gitzo. These are mostly manual metering. EXIF is, as always, intact in all of my images.
#1 Great Egret: Sometimes the nest building gets a little out of hand. "Hi honey. I'm home. Look what I've got!"
#2 Great Egret: Posing for the gals.
#3 Snowy Egret: Wheeee!!!
#4 Snowy Egret: "This is flight 415 on final approach."
#5 Snowy Egret: "Dontchya think I'm sexy?"
#6 Snowy Egret: "Hey gals, look at MEEEEeeeee!!!!"
#7 & #8 A Marbled Godwit does his thing.
