hi guys,
new to canon/photography, just received a 430ex , is it normal to have a degree of play slack in the bounce head? even when its locked, or just the way it is, not exactly flopping about but noticeable play

thanks gents

mine has a slight degree of play in it, but no more than you would think would be in any product made of plastic. just to give you an idea how slight, i would have never noticed it if i didn't see this post.

A little flop is normal I think. It should stay put in its position without a problem, but with my 580EXs, it is relatively easy to bump the head down into the macro position without much force.
