Ed, did you ever get the Beamer? I ended up buying one and used it too. I have a bracket type grip, actually two of them, but no way to use it handily with the Bigma. so I've only used it on the camera. And I still got the white eye, but that's always been easily fixed in CS2 with a small hard edged brush.

Yep, Mitch. I got the 430 and the Beamer and have been satisfied thus far. So now its open up the tripod, mount the camera, attached the flash, attached the Better Beamer. Then I put the binoculars with the harness on. Then the Backpack. Then the tripod with camera, etc. goes over my shoulder. And voila, in an instant
I'm ready to go!
By the time I get ready, it's time to break down and head home!
