Hi folks,

EDIT: whoops, should have explained I have a kenko 300 pro right now!

Anybody have any experience using a nonreporting 1.4 TC with a 70-200/2.8? I tried it with a nonreporting 2x TC and it hunted like crazy. I hate to have 2 1.4TC's, and I really don't like taping the contacts when using the kenko pro with my 400/5.6. The first time I tried it the tape tore and started to get caught in the mount - not cool. As long as I'm on the subject, anybody have a preference for a nonreporting TC to be used with my glass?

Thanks in advance!

I use mine with the Tamron 1.4x and it works fine. Image degradation is kinda obvious but i didn't see any hunting in AF.

I also used a Sigma 70-200 with a Tamron 2x and it worked fine as well. No hunting. But I didn't test it in low light.

If you want shoot sports with the 70-200 and the 1.4x TC, I tried it and was not happy with the AF performance in most sport circumstances.

I wasn't planning to use the TC on the 70-200 for sports, just for zoos and that kind of stuff. I do want a 1.4TC on the 400, so I was hoping to get by with only 1 TC

I use a Kenko Pro 300 DG 1.4 TC on my Canon 70-200 L 2.8 IS.
I am Suprised how well it works and does not hunt. Also the quality is outstanding.
