Could someone please direct me to some software or a way to renumber my pics from 0000-9999? Thanks alot, I tried google but I am not using the right words i guess.

Any software that can handle batch renaming will work. Photoshop will also do it, but it seems like a big hassle just to maintain file numbers beyond 9999. You will have to do batch rename all photos every time you download photos from your camera.

You already have it. DPP has a renaming tool. If you download with EOS Utility you can rename as you dowmload.
