New NEC Monitor warning

If you are considering purchasing a any of the Newer NEC monitors you need to be aware of the following comments from NEC regarding using Third party Calibration/Profiling devices.

"Semantics aside, the fact remains that third party software is unable to write to the internal LUN on NEC displays, the monitor is fully compatable with the DDC/CI standards but the procedure to write to the LUN of the monitor is considered proprietary. "

So in short, You must use NEC software to calibrate thier monitors.

I have no Idea how good or bad thier software is.

IF you have two monitors and one is Not an NEC you will have to use 2 differant softwares to calibrate/profile each.
