Ah! But that's where you are mistaken, Lester. The 24 mm is incredible for creative close-up work (on a crop sensor camera). The 90 is great for (very) small items, but if you want to get the most out of slightly larger objects, the 24 is hard to beat.

Tilt in the vertical direction, from left bottom to right top in the image, f.e., that is what it is about. And of course, somehow, all of the TS-Es have bokeh to kill for, even the 24...

That is a real pity, especially considering the amount of work you have done in this specific direction on your site.

Kind regards, Wim

Well, I already have more kit than expected to a couple of years ago. Hope you find the site stuff of interest.

Haven't voted as there wasn't an option for "all of them".

Using a 1ds so all of them used on a ff camera.

The 24 for wide angle and monster dof or for creating the pathway effect. Cool to play with buildings etc.

The 45 for panoramics, mount thr camera in vertical orientation, the shift the lens down, shoot the bottom part of the panorama, then shift up and shoot the top. can use the other two for this but prefer the 45.

The 90 attached to canons lifesize converter (should be used wit the 50 2.5 compact macro to give 1:1) allows you to control the plane of focus for macro subjects.

Just a few thoughts

Well, now I know what I did, the pathway effect. My wife doesn't like it.

I didn't vote because of no choice for all three, we have all of them at the studio I work with, I have my own 24mm TS-E. My next one will probably be the 45, followed by the 90. This is actually about the same order they are used in our work, others I'm sure have a different usage pattern. I use them according to the focal length I want, the IQ difference is overstated in my opinion. Being from the old school (large and medium format) it was a no brainer when it came to choosing a digital system, 1Ds (now 1Ds MKII ) and the TS lenses was the best choice. We also have a 1.4 TE which works very well with the TS lenses. I really wonder though about the posters who trash the 24, have they ever even looked through one? Just what is the alternative, anyone know of one? I sure as hell don't!

Is it best to expose first without T/S using the same lens or using a non T/S lens first?

I notice the exposure goes way off with the 90 (only one Ive got) when tilted

Interesting question, and I never thought of which TS lens I'd get if I could only have one in my setup.

In the end I picked the 24L. The image quality is supposedly quite disappointing for an L lens, and particularly for a piece of glass at this price point. I don't do much architectural photography these days, but I reckon the 24L would be very helpful on a FF if I ever got down to doing it again.

For those who are interested in the 90mm, they might want to look into this third-party alternative:

That is common for all TS-E and Shift lenses, they meter best in the neutral position. No doubt the 24mm TS-E is not really tack sharp but you can't make another 24mm lens do what it does. I would love to tear down a wall or two sometimes to use the 45 but the client usually hates that idea.
