Why is it that when I finally catch one coming up with food in his mouth they're always facing the other way and I get a blurry butt shot? "Slower minds keep right..."

(why don't you try to clone out some of the distractions? If you screw it up, so what? Just dump the copy and save the original... You know you would have suggested I do the same thing if this were my shot... "Can't you denude all the trees? Those leafy thingies are annoying...") "Slower minds keep right..."

A copy BG clone would be quite easy for shot 1 except where the offending twig crosses the bird's tail. To do an undetectable job here would be pretty difficult, and in any case, at what point does a photo become a painting?

It could take just a little more unsharp mask. I do not think that the first shot is very good; it looks "cold" and out of focus and I do not understand why people are saying that it is "good" - it isn't. No offense, but I prefer the truth!! ![]() I'm trying to remember..I think I ran it through neat Image once and decreased the lightness because the chest feathers were too bright. You're right about the first one...I appreciate comments like that and so should everyone else...that's how you learn. Thanks.
