Thanks, man! I see you got the 50 makro ZE now. How do you like that one?

The way the Zeiss renders a scene is different. Hard to describe, it has a more dramatic look. It looks more 3D because of the zeiss microcontrast.
I like it very much, but the MF is something to get used to (esp. wide open)

Freezing gull (it was alternating between the left and right leg to try and keep warm):

I find mine to be quite "dreamy" at f/1.2 but super sharp at 1.4

This lens can get very sharp wide open @ f/1.2, esp if you step back a little:

@ f/1.2

Love those shots Joey.

+1

Joey should get percentages from Canon PR. I pretty sure he helps them ship more 50Ls than all of their marketing efforts combined.

Seriously Joey, have you contacted Canon about this? Your images beat the living crap out of the examples on Canons sites and the ones in "EF Lens Works III" are just plain... bleh.

@MClassImages & @dkspook: Thanks for the kind words.

You continue to amaze me with the quality of work you produce with this lens.

I love it on my 5DmkII, but I think I love it even more on my mkIII :)

@agphotography: It's a toss up for me as I really like the 35 ƒ/1.4 on the Mark III, too bad the 35 is in love with chromatic aberration which makes me come back to the 50.
