Nice shots nicksan! While your composition and framing was excellent (I can never shoot street), I find the 50L's bokeh slightly distracting especially when the background has lots of elements in it. Just my 2 cents

Thanks.

Not entirely sure any other 50mm would have done better though based on the BG. Of course using a longer focal length prime such as the 135L would do a better job at diffusing the background.

Does the 50L have internal focusing?

Also, any new owners 2010 and newer experiencing the erratic AF shift issue?

NatX wrote in post #12442897 (external link)
Yes Michael, internal focusing, so far no AF issues for me (= brilliant lens!

airbutchie wrote in post #12442899 (external link)
^ As far as I know, it does have internal focusing... With that being said, the front element does move forward/backward just a tad when AF-ing... And I'm sorry I can't help you with this glassware being made in 2010+... Nonetheless, here's one capture from a 2006 (UV date code) manufacturing...

:)

Actually, it doesn't use IF. All glass is moved simultaneously when focusing. Because it isn't a macro lens, and fairly short as far as FL goes, it only needs to move relatively little, about 8 or 9 mm, going from infinity to closest focusing distance.

Kind regards, Wim

Nice set. I actually prefer overcast skies. Much softer lighting to work with. Like a giant softbox.

Naturally it'd take a bit of tweaking in post to up the contrast/saturation but one doesn't need to worry about harsh shadows. :)
