But it's generally sharp enough and can be sharpened further in PP if required. But compared to a 35L or an 85IIL...it's a bit dissapointing wide open "out of the can". Those 3 are amazing out of the box wide open. I heard some mixed opinions with the 50L and some even say its comparable to sigmalux or better.
