Curious. How much CA should I expect with this lens wide open in bright light. Seems I was getting a good bit yesterday. Some may have been due, in part, to missing focus the first time out with this lens. (?)

hey Julian,

for your "action" kid shots, what focus settings do you use?

single point? servo or not? if single point, do you use the outer points?
auto selection? (because i noticed not all the shots are centered, so i assume you use the outer points)

Mike,

The portrait oriented shots I use off-centered af point and ai servo, moving the point as needed to line up with the face.

The landscape oriented shots posted above I shot with ai servo and center point. Then I cropped for composition.

Yea... this lens certainly has its quirks. :D

I might break down and buy the 5d3. Still trying to hold out to see what becomes of the 1dx.

I like the lens on my 5dc. I just don't like the autofocus. :D
