Given both focal lengths work for what I do I'd let the 50 go before the 85. i agree..the 85L is an amazing lens

The fedex girl *hawt* brought me two goodies today. http://www.ebags.com …231917?productid=10184202 timbuk2 snoop in small (2012 model with grab handle) and 50mm 1.2! I'm so excited!! thanks for your inspiration, everyone. cheers (pic'd in the bag: L 16-35L C 5dmark3 with 50 1.2L R 135L) [IMG]http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5160/7212270122_a952ac72e8.jpg[IMG] [IMG]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8167/7212271544_6ff3ee3b97.jpg[IMG] [IMG]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7098/7212272728_4c1ce1449f.jpg/img] I just hit a few keys on the calculator and thinking your lens lineup is smack dab within reach and would be a fantastic kit... Just not sure if letting the 24-105 go for the 16-35 would feel like a mistake. The 50 f/1.2 and the 5D3 are both on top of my list right now. I've been trying to get negotiations going with the finance department for a few weeks, but she keeps saying "I don't want to talk about this right now." Gotta make the conversation happen this week to have any hope of getting the double rebates (not that another deal won't come along shortly after this one expires...) Canon EOS M6 Mark II - EOS R5

May 16, 2012 22:51 | #6745 I do think the 50L is the most attractive lens. Almost feel ridiculous to say that but it just feels perfect mounted on a 5D. If I'm mistaken, what do you guys recommend for under $150? I keep a B+W multicoated UV on mine. I believe it needs a filter to be fully weather sealed. Website

May 17, 2012 06:14 | #6747 I use a B+W MRC UV filter on mine as well. Stays on at all times. As Tommy pointed out, it is required to fully weather seal the lens. Phillip - phillipwardphotography.com
