What do you think ? Fuji XE-1, Zeiss ikon, Hasselblad; I love shooting film as a conceptual idea

What do you think ? IMO, sigma 50 1.4 wins in terms of value. I find the Sigma to be sharper then the Canon wide open, stopped down they are virtually the same lens. The thing the Sigma doesn't have is the Canon 50L look to it, some images taken with the 50L wide open have a 3D effect to them.

I used to shoot Sigma 50 1.4 before, the focusing accuracy is quite horrible as it shifts between its distances and lacks consistency. Besides that they do have different looks. The Sigma bokeh is really smooth and buttery but the Canon bokeh looks a bit more exciting to me. Fuji XE-1, Zeiss ikon, Hasselblad; I love shooting film as a conceptual idea

The Canon focused better and had its distinctive bokeh. Image quality-wise I found little to no difference. The Sigma AF drove me nuts. Win.

I own 1 sigma, but have owned 2 Canon 50L's and the Sigma beats the Canons in terms of focusing, sharpness, and bokeh. I will admit I like the 3D look that canon has but for 50mm, sigmas bokeh is way smoother. I could settle for either bokeh though, but I think technically speaking and valuewise the sigma would be the winner.
