Trying out a new mount

think it would make a nice picture if you focused on the speedo and the road. the darkness of the cabin and the fact you can't see any driver make it look odd

Actually, I think its pretty perfect. Did you intentionally add vignetting in PS? It might be a tad overdone.

I like it... I've seen that done with less satisfying results, so nice work.

Thanks, that was one of 235 that evening, I feel guilty adding the vignetting in PS, feel like I'm usiing it as a cruch recently but it helps cut out the excess clutter. And I noticed I picked up a funky glow on the tach digital display. Adding the vignetting, when I dial it back in opacity I get a weird blackish grey have over lighter spots.

I'd like to see a slightly lower angle so the mirror didn't block the car lights in the background. Good shot, though.

Don't use that effect. Just burn out(with the burn tool) the clutter.

I like the vignetting, but like PhotosGuy said, a little lower, and if there was a hand visable on the steering wheel it would make it look less like a runaway car

Nice, I've been planning on building the same mount for a while. Just haven't gone out to pick up the materials.

For the people asking for pics, it's really quite simple. It's actually just as he describes.

You take the metal, and on one end, drill a pair of holes so your headrest can slide through it into the seat and on the other, just 1 so that you can attach your tripod head of choice into it.

You can also go a different route where the bar spans the 2 seats so 1 hole on each end into each headrest, and then 1 in the middle for the camera but then you'd have to make sure your seats were at the same level when you attach it.

So does the headrest on the MINI hold it solid enough?
I've also seen rigs with 2 bars one in front and one behind the headrest bars and then they bolt together. We have a MINI and are driving it to GA in June and I'd like to get it setup like that...

I have a rig for my WRX already which was a lot harder because it has seats with built in headrests...
