I'm looking at getting an Wacom Intuis3 tablet. I heard that 4x6 is a good size since your hand won't have to pick up and I've heard that it's too small too?

If you wind up doing any graphics work and not use it for basic functions, IMO you need as much space on a tablet as you can fit. I have my 6x8 for my laptop, and it goes with me when I'm on trips: conveniently is similar dimensions to my laptop and fits in a laptop case quite easy.
