I have found a tree that is essentially a Waxwing cafeteria. These shots were taken on an overcast day, and the I really like the colors. I'll post some very different looking ones taken on a sunny day when I get them PP'd.

EOS 30D, EF 100-400 at 400mm, f/5.6, ISO 800, shutter as indicated.

Beautiful. These birds are so smooth they look like they have been over neat imaged. :)

Yeah, you can't make out any detail in their contour feathers when watching them with the naked eye.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.

Great shots, I have not seen any around me this year, either I missed them, or they have not came through yet.

These are fantastic. We had some here for about 1 hour during a snow storm. Hopefully there are more to come our way so I have a chance at this bird.

Great shots, how did you get them so clean my ISO400 shots have more noise.

Great shots! As others have said the plumage is so delicate that they look painted over!

Well, I did use Neat Image to reduce noise. A lot of it is that I was able to get quite close to the birds, and did not have to crop much to get these images. Below is a crop of the same image without post processing. The noise reduction helps, but I think it would be pretty good even without it for ISO 800.
