Cardinals are considered rare here. (5 or less birds per year)
I know it's not the greatest shot, but I'm quite pleased to have this young lady visiting my feeder lately.

I'm begging to think you have all the cool birds down that way. Nice shot Shirley. Thanks Trevor. I was so excited. Earlier this week I thought I saw a cardinal but then I figured it was just my really bad id'ing ability. Then it came back twice yesterday and I first saw it with the binoculars. That's when I sat outside and waited.... montreal wrote in post #3081664 Nice! I also got a female today. I must say it was only the fourth time (or so) in my life that I saw one. Yes, I saw yours earlier. I really hope to have a male visit soon. I must go find a recording of their song, so I will recognize it. canonloader wrote in post #3081704 Nice shot Shirley. Yes you must! It's a very recognizable song. Now that I've heard it I'll know when there's one around. Funny because yesterday was the first time I heard one sing. 5D - 17-40L, 70-200L f4, 50 f1.4, PowerShot A430
