This may sound like a stupid request, but here goes anyway.

I am looking to buy a legal version of the new Photoshop cs3. I have a coupon to get 15% off, and it seems people in California (and possibly other states) do not have a sales tax applied. I then need the item shipped to me in the UK.

The price here is £560 = $1100US. The price after discount in the US is $560. Go fig. And although I can buy any pirated movie on ebay right now, I just can't find a US seller of (legal) photoshop cs3!!

And while I can easily download a pirate, I do not want to go down that line.

I would pay you either through paypal or I could mail out traveller's checks.

If you are willing to help me out, please let me know,
Saqib.

Customs will not amount to the £250 i will be saving! You are actually tax exempt from computer stuff, aside from VAT from what I recall.

I think California has a sales tax might want to look for someone from Oregon, they do not have a sales tax last time I was there.

$1100 US. I do believe that you should have thrown your tea into the harbor at the same time we did here in the colonies. Might not be so pricey now. :D

Not so sure I would want to be shipping software from the US out of country. The Brits are our allies, but some folks get a little testy with shipping US software out of country.

It's freaking Photoshop, not some encoding or encryption thing, which does have restrictions for shipping out of the country.

As a Brit in the US, I think you're taking one helluva gamble. Personally although I disapprove heartily of piracy, at the kind of price they're charging for PhotoShop I can understand why people want pirated versions.

Personally I'm going down the Apple route though.

What gamble? There is no duty to be paid on software, only VAT. At $560, that would work out at £50, giving me a total price of around £360, a wild £200 cheaper!! When I bought aperture, it ended up costing me only £50 (£180 is what I paid, I was not taxed for some reason on import, and then £130+tax rebate as the price dropped!).

The sales tax is not applicable if the company does not have an office in the state. So CA and apparantly WA are both ok - so will others be. NJ and NY is not.
