I was going to comment "why 1/800s?" untill I saw the jump shots... Then I thought that 1/800 maybe wasn't *way* too fast. (allthough 1 stop slower might have been possible. Not much experience there)

Nice timing. Some seem a bit soft, but I like #1, 2, 5 and 6.
Colors could need a bit processing; not as much as in post #8 and 9, but the originals have a bit too much "miss Piggy" skintones IMO.

Thanks, Dwight. I just got Photoshop for Christmas and I'm learning a ton.

Here's a link to a bunch of the photos that I processed for some prints. I might reprocess before I order the prints given some of the good advice here.

Gave it a Q&D:
Channel mixer adjustment layer, to remove the clipping a bit from the red channel:
Red Channel: R=85; G=10; B=5
Green Channel: R=2; G=98; B=0
Blue Channel: R=5; G=5; B=90

Above that a Curves adjustment layer R: 207/211; G: 195/190; B: 173/181.

I then converted the images to sRGB, which you should have done in the first place ;)

Not there, but a bit better IMO.

Great shots!

And, being a lighting designer, LEAVE THOSE PICS ALONE! :D

OK, well, not all of them ;)

John hit the nail on the head. What we as lighting designers do is try to enhance the entire space. It is not always necessarily the most complimentary look for a close up of an individual performer, but it does make the whole space look good. For these shots, if you were in the 50th row with your 85mm, you would get more of what the lighting designer was trying to do. With the closeups, you are really taking their design "out of context" so to speak.

Believe me, I am a theatrical/dance lighting designer, AND shooter, and it is almost impossible to make everyone happy. The directors always want close up shots of the performers, but when watching the show, they want so many effects that you start to lose track of the individual people. It really is a fine balance.

Oh well, I guess the long and short of it is, its your picture, tweek it so you think it looks good and portrays what was there! :)
