Bridge is still crashtastic apparently. If you hit the regular graphic designer/photographer haunt,s tons of guys who use this daily for work are pretty damn fed up.

Are you saying that you're going to pay for the full blown version, then? I don't see how you can (legally) upgrade to the CS3 version if you sell the CS2 version.

Very good question.

At least he's using a legit copy.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional

The "educational version" only comes as a "full" package I believe. So, Billy the Kid is not upgrading on the same path as those who had to pay full freight. ;-)a

for me, to buy full academic suite (with a whole new licence) would cost almost the same as buying a retail upgrade package. also, by buying the new package i then still own my CS2 licence, which i can then deactivate and sell to recoup some of the costs.

Doesn't the academic version add some kind of watermark to your finished photos? Or at least, I thought the academic licence probibits the user from using the resulting images for commercial purposes?

no watermarks haha. and as for prohibitions. you must be a student to "buy" the software. after you have bought it you can use it to make money off of it, and you can pay for a full retail upgrade for future versions. it would be looked down upon if an existing business bought it, but a student can buy it and later make money off of it.

Damn~! Good for you, Kid! Back when I was still in university, I had no idea how my student status enables me to take advantage of all these perks, and now that I'm an old fart, it's too late... :|

One's never too old to go to back to school and learn something new (or relearn something that's already been forgotten). And you can get discounted software, to boot. I heard of a guy who got his college degree at a ripe age of 83!

;) ;) ;)
