Nice shots Steve. I've been doing a lot of back yard shooting lately myself but I don't have a white throated sparrow. :)

Thank you. While I love all my backyard creatures I've got to get some more variety.

There's a male Cardinal, whom I've yet to capture. It's as if he's playing a game with me.

So, I've either got to move (for a new backyard), or go to where the birds are. Now, where are my car keys?;)

I hear ya, but at almost $3 a gallon and a truck that gets about 9 miles per gallon, I have to limit myself to just driving around looking for birds. Ahhh, for the good old days.

As to those Cardinals, you have to stay out of sight with them, like in a window blind in the house. Even then, they are jumpy if they see you moving about. Also, Cardinals do not prefer getting their seeds from feeders, they much prefer scratching around on the ground for them. You might try just putting some on a likely spot under or near a tree. They don't like it out in the open where they can be attacked from above either. :)

Thanks for the tip about the Cardinals. The funny thing is, I've gotten several shots of a female. In fact, it almost seemed like she enjoyed having her picture taken. I'll follow your suggestions for the male.
