Incremental Backups

I back up my photos onto two external hard drives and DVD's.

Everytime I back up onto the hard drives I just copy my Photo folder with all the sub folders in it's entirety.

Does anyone know of software that is preferably free that can do incremental back ups so that only new photo's are copied regardless of which folder or subfolder they are in.

So basically it will update my existing backup folders with new photo's only and not re-write older photo's.

I hope that makes sense.

There is a simple FREE tool to do this from MICROSOFT. It is called synctoy. You can download it from microsoft. Works pretty neat. Small, simple and free... I assume you are using PC.

I use a program called Backer. Not free, but low cost ($39 I think).

I use synctoy also. Works well.

I use allwaysync, it gives you better options than synctoy. Its also free

I use Cobian Backup. It's great and free program, and it does more than I need. It does Full, Incremental, Diferential, FTP and so long...

RoboCopy - Robust Copy, by Microsoft. Free. Google it. SyncToy might be easier to use, RoboCopy is probably more powerful but it's command line and harder to use.

I use the software that came with MyBook's hard drive and it does the incremental shimmy as well.
