I finally got good weather and the time to go and actually use my new 400/5.6 yesterday!!! Obviously my technique needs work, but it's a start:

Great shots. What was the bird doing on the second picture? Was he suicidal?

Yes, he does look suicidal now that I look! He was actually jumping from branch to branch and I caught him in midair.
