Ok, I left early just so I could be the first one to post. I removed my bean picture because PhotoFranz did it much better!! Great meeting everyone! Had a blast.

That's fantastic! So many shooters and a great collection of gear. :)

There was talk about going to the Renaissance Fair and maybe Starved Rock in the fall, but nothing has been planned yet.

Here is a shot I took of the group:

Here is a crop of the same photo:

I got to the park at 8:00 am. I had a rare opportunity to get some shots with almost no one around. Here is one I like:

I had a wonderful time and want to thank all of those who had such great advice on improving my photos.

Looks like i missed a good time. What time did you all call it quits?

I had a get together at my place last night, didnt wake up till 10:00 so I missed the 10am train, had to take a noon train, got into the City at around 1pm, got lost looking for the lake LOL, and finally made it to the bean around 14:30. And I left my phone on the charger at home so I wasnt able to call anyone to see if you guys were still out.

I did however wander around and take some shots for a few hours Ill post them up in a little while.

To everyone who came: thanks. I had a great weekend, learned a bit, tried some equipment, and met some really cool people. Now, onto my photos.

These are only pictures from Saturday night. I wasn't very pleased with most of what I shot. Looking at most, I didn't feel like they were all that interesting or unique. However, these are a few of what I have. Click on the thumbnails for a larger version. C&C welcome.

Awesome weekend everybody! Great to meet all of you. I haven't even gotten my gear out of the car yet. I couldn't wait to get here and see what you guys got. Great stuff from what I've seen so far. I hope I can find one or two of my own shots worthy to put up here next to your stuff. Hopefully I can get to it soon.

Did anyone but me try to do a panorama of the skyline this morning? If so, did it work out? Mine is giving me problems because the sky wasn't the same color throughout.

 I can't believe I didn't even think of that! That is something I've been wanting to try.

Oh wait a minute... I was still a little flustered when I finally got there for the (hour after) sunrise shoot. I think I mentioned to you guys that I was late because the hotel alarm didn't go off when I set it, but I forgot to tell you that when I got back to the room an hour and a half later, it was going off. I think it was toying with me. It must have known I didn't have a hammer on me.
