Got out today and finally got close to a Great blue heron which made my day in itself, but later today I knocked one off my life list, a Surf Scoter. What a large, colorful bill on the scoter. Took about 60 pictures of the heron and 40 of the Scoter. I'm still on a high from todays results, and I also got some decent shots of a fox leaping after mice ( see nature/animals forum). Thanks for looking.

Way to go Trevor. The Scoter has quite the schnoz there. You did a nice job with the captures there. ame for the GBH - some good action shots.

Very nice shots and the Scoter is very cool. Looked in my book and it shows it has a rare appearance in these parts.

Nice shots Trevor. I really like them and it's great to see some shots of the scoter (I've only ever seen 1 irl).

Trevor the GBH is nice but I love the Scoter. You did well with the exposure. I am quite surprised at the small size of it's eyes.

Aren't you supposed to be out planting potatoes? :)
Great shots. All of them. I especially like the second scoter one. I've never seen one of those before.
