This is related to my important grave site post. A very ordinary photo but I had to post it paired with a painting. The Wakamatsu Tea and Silk colony was the first permanent Japanese imigrants to the US and included the first Japanese women to come to the US. The ranch building was built in the 1840s and still stands today.
Oh yeah, and I'm British so I realise thats pretty weak compared to European historical standards. Its still pretty interesting though.
