How to enhance pictures taken on a cloudy day.

The attached picture was taken on a cloudy day. I used PS CS to brighten it somewhat but question whether or not I made the right adjustments.

Please critique.

Try the "Warming" Filter, under Adjustments... Photo filter.

Your histogram looks as though some of the detail in the highlights may have been blown during brightening - perhaps try some local contrast enhancement with unsharp mask on the original to increase the contrast in the shadow areas, or use the 'shadow / highlights' adjustment to lighten the darker areas. I guess it depends how much detail is present in the original.

Why not post your image on Post-pocessing and Printing and make the original available for other members have a go so they can give you better direction, you will see many different results and find out how they have been achieved.

My attempt:

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO


I increased the saturation slightly then used Curves to bring out more detail in the various components at the same time as reducing some of the haze/salt spray. Increased the contrast as well.
