hope every one is well.
going back to last post i borrowed a mates 300 f4 nikon to see what primes like.
a bit unfair as manual focus only but it still showed what it could do.
keith r made a good point in the fsct my bigm should do the same (and some)
so here are two image . bairing in mind these are at 500mm f8 not 300mm f4.
im going to put the nikon starling back so you get point.

nikon 300mm f4 f/f

thanks gary . ive just done a check and the bigma was 1/500 and no sun but bright
and the nikon was 1/1000 but it was sunny at the time so this might have had a play it the outcome.

all great but i think the Nikon just wins and at f4 it would give a tad more DOF and the plus 1/500 Extra SP would also help, the Sigma really can hold its own though no doult about it .

The prime looks a tiny bit sharper, and thats saying a lot since it was manual focus. Still, theres nothing wrong with the Bigma either.

thanks rob and mitch yes the more i look at the nikon image you can see the differance more so around the eye . this it what made me think bloody hell. and these lens are always on ebay at good prices. any way back to the plot a little while ago i asked my mate if i could borrow the lens again
on friday i have the afternoon off so i will do a test with in the same light and at the same focal lenghts then it would be more even apart from f4.
