How do I set up a 20D or a 5D with a wireless remote shutter release? I read an article about it some time back, but can't find it now .

Please speak slowly and distinctly. I have a wife, AND a computer, I don't need any more confusion in my life.

Pocketwizards plus a eBay "adidt" remote. you'll need a small adapter cable to go from 1/4 plug to miniplug. You end up have a cable remote and pocketwizards from the deal.

Or you can go buy the Canon remote.

There is also the simpler option of going to ebay and typing in canon 5d remote and sorting by high price first:
