Talk about perpetual motion... downy woodpeckers use more energy on a perch than most birds do in flight. This one only hesitated for an instant before going back to its nonstop dashing around the trees.

Thanks, Pete. It's been a slow day, cloudy and windy, so I've not done well so far. But it's nice when one slows down to pose for the camera and almost requires a shot.
