I am looking into buying an Apple Macbook as my Dell laptop keeps getting "kidnapped" by the rest of the family. It seems like a good excuse to make the switch to a Mac.

However I use Adobe P Elements 4 for processing raw files from my 30D and was wondering whether I will be able to do this on iPhoto or will I need to buy a Mac version of PE 4?

I use adjustment layers, levels, sharpen mask and save as JPEGs or Tiffs.

I'd be grateful for any advise from Mac users out there.

Thank you.

option c, call adobe and have them switch your existing license from PC to Mac. should be free if its a download option, otherwise the price for a CD and shipping.

If you do RAW, I would look into Lightroom or atleast Aperture

Elements for Mac will do all the things you mentioned. DPP that comes with the 30D will allow extensive processing in raw format.

I use a Kodak Brownie

Do get a trail version of Adobe Lightroom as well though to try, as I find it indispensible.

However if you are buying a new Mac Book I think the latest version of iPhoto will support RAW from the 30D, but iPhoto is a very simple program, perhaps too simple

As others have said Elements and DPP will do most for you , but do check out Lightroom - I prefer it to Aperture;)
