Osprey with Flatfish

Went out for a half hour after work tonight, had nice light from the low sun. I was staking out the local osprey nest when this beauty flew by.

#6 While shooting the heron, this cormorant popped up in front, and tossed a minnow in the air.

Thanks Gary, yes the flatfish is saltwater, and from what I have been told and seen it is the fish of choice for the osprey around here.

Nice series and the image with the Heron and Cormorant gets a lot of my attention...can almost envision the heron going for that small airborne fish:D

Thanks Gary, When I realized the heron was going to let me shoot, I stopped down the lens to make sure I got all of him in focus, got lucky when the cormorant showed up. :D
