I like the shot. The composition is excellent. The catchlight in the eye shows excellent stability during the shot.

Thank you for your comments. I have often seen that what I like and what other photographers like can vary greatly. I have never considered myself to have an artists eye so I like to see from time to time what others think of pictures that I like.

My honest opinion here is that the perch is too dominant and covers too much of the bird...I also don't like the fact that the perch is so dark underneath - my eye is drawn to that darkness.

The cardinal is well exposed and has a nice pose with the crest up, the eye good and sharp. BG is nice and clean and has a cool "marbled" design in it.

Nice Shot Rock

You are right on the edge of Saturation, Red is very hard not to burn out but yours still has detail. I would say certainly one of your best.
