Hi all,

I spent last weekend in Kununurra, which is in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. I also took a quick trip out to the Ord River Dam, which reportedly holds more than 10,000 gigalitres -21 times the amount of water in Sydney Harbour.

Here are a couple of my favourites from Kununurra:

The sunset from Kelly's Knob:

and:

On the river:

The nearby Diversion Dam (used to supply irrigation water):

and, finally, my favourite, Elephant Rock, on the river just outside Kununurra:

Many more on the PBase site below.

Comments (good and bad) welcome. The EXIF data should be intact, most of these are taken with the 5D and the Canon 24-105 IS lens.

Cheers,

Simon....

Mate , nice place , like the last one , a couple are a bit flat need to bump up the saturation , did you use a polarizer, the 3rd one has great potential at the right time of day though I would not put the dead tree right in the middle. Just my thoughts, cheer robert

Thanks Robert, appreciate the comments. I'm a little reluctant to increase the saturation too much more, they look fine on my monitor and print out fine and I hate too highly 'pushed' images. I'll try a different crop of the 3rd one, thanks for the suggestion.

Cheers,

Simon....

Thanks HB, it's a great place to visit. I printed the last one out on A3+ last night, it looks stunning.

Agreed with that they look fine to me and they are all great shots! Particularly 2 and 5, last one is no slouch either.

Will look forward to more of your work.

Thanks kenyc, will wait and see what others think. I should have numbered them, will do that now if I'm allowed.

#1 and #2 look stunning printed at A3+ on Ilford Smooth Pearl. #5 could be boosted a little more, but it wasn't as vibrant as #1 and #2 in real life.
