I managed to get under cover the other day when the rains came,( it poured for over a half hour), and while waiting for it to stop raining a GBHeron flew past , landed about 200 yards away at the edge of the lake, and started catching fish for lunch.

This shot was with the 500mm lens, plus the Canon 2x TC at 200 yards. ( Small crop on left side )

Nice save. So far, that's what all of my GBH shots have been. Might have to break out the digiscope again.

Wonderful presentation and I agree with GyRob, the pictures have a paint like quality to them and it really works well.

Nicely posed and I really like the effect of the rain drops on the water which I think, add interest to the image. Well done Edward.

Great shots under some unlikely weather - Was it a Canon 500mm?

Thanks, Reyno. It was amazing how many geese and ducks started activly feeding as well during the rain and thunder.

Trevor, I agree with what youo said, and it`s just unfortunate we can`t make better use of those conditions.

Thanks for your comment as well, Dave. Yes, it was with the Canon 500mm f4.5 , attached to a Wimberley Side Kick. One sweet lens !
