I have been using ImageIngester for quite some time now. It's a really great tool for creating redundant copies of your photos while batch renaming and appending metadata all in one click. However, I just noticed that I changed my metadata template back in february to update the copyright year, but failed to make sure that the metadata wasn't overwriting any other information. sure enough, it was also changed the "Date Created", "Date Modified" and "Date Digitized"...
Fortunately I still hadn't converted these ones to DNG yet because I have fallen behind on my archive, but it does mean deleting all of my xmp sidecars and starting from scratch with all of my RAW post-processing back to early March....anyway, for anyone out there using metadata templates, be sure to open up your metadata file and check to make sure that the only info included is stuff you want to have included (this includes camera model and serial number - no need to change what is already correct coming out of the camera).
