This is a continuation of this thread. There just too many pics to put it all in one and I hadn't edited these yet.

The pair that were using this hole would leave to catch food for 10 minutes or so at a time so I don't know if they had eggs or babies yet...

Then she would stay in there for 15 minutes or so before leaving again.

Thanks Stephen. I got lucky in finding this tree. It's easy to get to and there should be plenty of opportunity for more shots. Maybe practice some inflights. :D

Thanks Sindri. These guys seem very tame, pretty much ignoring me sitting below them.

Thanks George. The colors are nice, but the light seems to have made them more muted. Probably the angle I was shooting.

Allen, there are several other holes on the other side also. Not sure if any birds are using them yet. I didn't see any birds go in them but other birds besides these shown were also landing on top of the snag, so maybe. It rained today and probably tomorrow, but I will be checking this again as soon as it clears. I'd love to get some inflights. ;)

Alan, I had my tripod set up so I could sit on the end of a picnic table and shoot in comfort. The day was extremely windy and the birds had no trouble just hovering on the wind if they wanted to. After I had been there a few minutes, I started looking around. There were a number of other trees there, but not like in the woods, and these and the others in the group were whizzing through the trees and out over the water, not 5 feet off the ground. As I sat there, I could watch them at eye level. Unfortunately, they were way to fast to shoot. :)

Very nice shots, I love the last one the best of this series. If you can, keep an eye on this site, you might be able to see when the bablies fledge. It's really cool, another 'helper' comes in to assist the fledglings with their first flight. It was really amazing.:)

Thanks Downy. I will be looking for that. I think there already might be hatchlings. While the parents were gone, I think I heard the little peeps from the tree.

Thanks Pete. I will definately be at this tree every day I can make it down there. Unfortunately it rained yesterday and is supposed to today.
