Made a trip through our greenhouse as things have started to flower. Got these two photos and was wondering what people thought.

Thanks in advance for any opinions on what to do differently :).

The orange one is magnificent!

On the second, the border merger on the right side is a bit distracting. If you pic just one flower to be in focus (which I think was a good choice), make sure it's fully in the frame. Just widening the shot a bit toward that side would fix it.

Great colors, by the way!

love the first one crop the right side dead space out and print it.
second one has too much oof space.. a higher f-stop with most of them atleast close to being in focus would have rocked.

great pics. The flower that's in focus in teh second one looks like he has his 'hand' in the air saying '...pick me, pick me!...' lol. I like the crops. The backgrounds are OOF on purpose I'm assuming?

I like the shallow depth of field. I agree with Sonic Infidel with regard to framing. In addition, I can't help wondering whether the photos would look better with a little more colour saturation?

Thanks all, I kind of forgot I had posted this. I got distracted over in Tupperware

I hadn't thought about saturation, I just went with what they looked like. The light purple one is odd it is actually kind of washed out like that. But I will play with it tomorrow maybe and see what happens.

I like them! I like the OOF backgrounds. The color contrast between the flower and dark greenery makes the OOF backgrounds work well. I do agree on the crop of the flower in the 2nd one. Would be better if it weren't chopped off - but the petal in the air is great!!!
