Both are wonderful shots. I have a couple of these that come to my feeders every year. They only come until the bugs start to appear and then they feed on those. ...and wouldn't you know it. Now that I'm armed with a good lens to take a photo of one, they haven't come around. They really are a beautiful bird to see. Hope you can post more shots.

Canon 7D, 450D, various lenses, a bottle of Muskol

Beautiful.

My annual spring visitor, a male rose-breasted, showed up at my feeder yesterday (April 24th) too.

Nice shots of a good bird. I haven't had one here for a couple of years. I also find them elusive to photgraph. They always seem to be on the wrong side of a branch, feeder or whatever.

Two very nice captures of one of my favourite Summer birds.Great DOF on the bird in the first capture. Very nice!

You are lucky to have so many as I rarely get more than 2 at a time in my yard and not before mid May. The females are quite nice as well with variations of brown and great markings. The females have a wonderful gold colour under the wings and the males have that same rosy red color under the wings...Beautiful bird in flight.

Gary Fairhead C/C welcome .....

Again, I'm really surprised! i thought this bird (being colorful and rare around here) would draw some comments...

I'll never figure this forum out...

As Mitch mentioned with the number of new threads coming in each day good phtoos can accidentally be missed.

Nice captures here of a bird I'm still looking to add to my collection. A female was on one of my feeders the other day so perhasp there's hope yet. ;)

Amazing how far these birds range, isn't it? Like the hummers traveling 2000 miles to winter. Just blows my mind...those little wings doing all that work!

Very nice shots. My wife called me earlier this morning to say we had some at the feeders. Can't wait to see them.

Only because you asked... (and I love the gear list... my bottle of Grand Marnier is a central component! Can't make a good B-52 without it, you know)
