After years of just being a JPEG shooter, I have finally started getting interested in RAW. However, I just am not seeing what every one else seems to be seeing! I have been shooting in RAW/L-Fine JPEG and when I compare them, they seem identical. I purposely shot some bad shots just so I could play with the programs--for example, I took a shot in my living room in the evening but metered for the back lighting outside on the deck so the room would be way off. I could make the RAW image--or the JPEG image look like I used fill flash--which normally I would have. The JPEG after tweaking seemed a bit noisier, but still plenty good for me. So if I am getting good JPEG shots, do I even need to be messing with RAW and taking up storage space? I have not done many conversions yet, and haven't printed any--just getting used to the stuff. I can see where I might want to keep a "negative" to tweak later in the event of a real screw up, but if I get images with a spot-on histogram, do I really need to bother with RAW assuming I don't want to mess with curves and such, and don't really need to do much dodging and burning.

This site is a plethora of information and wonderful help--I am getting really addicted to it!

If you don't need to do large corrections, don't goof up the WB, (and dont want to squeeze out the last few extra % of possible quality); No.
Jpg is fine.
