Can someone pass on some instructions along the lines of "Plugins for Photoshop Elements 2 Dummies?" I've recently downloaded a sharpening program called FocalBlade, but I haven't the slightest idea how to get it into Elements. I've tried the help info page in the Elements manual. I've looked through texts on Elements. I've contacted the people at FocalBlade, whose only advice was to "select the Plug-Ins of Photoshop Elements 2 while installing FocalBlade in the setup." Huh?

I have no guru to whom I can refer---except the generous ones on this forum who might be inclined to "walk me through" this mystery. I do know that somehow, whichever plugin I download and install, it has to end up on my filters, correct?

I'm afraid to purchase any downloads (such as those from Miranda) for fear that they'll end up in some cyberhole.

Floyd,

There is a folder called:

<drive>:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2\Plug-Ins\Filters

AFAICR, the FocalBlade installation routine should allow you to select this folder. However, if it does not you will have to copy the FocalBlade.8bf plug-in file manually. You should find it in:

<drive>:\Program Files\FocalBlade

Unless you have installed to a non-standard location.

Regards,

Thanks, Roger. Focal Blade now sits in my Elements plugins folder.....but I haven't a clue as to how to call this up when working on an image. Tried everything from filters to enhance, etc., but nowhere have I been able to locate Focal Blade. Feel like a really dumb schmuck. What is the obvious point I'm missing?

Floyd,

In PS CS, there is a option "Photo Wiz" in the Filters menus, so I guess you should find this in PSE. I don't have FocalBlade installed in my copy of Elements, but other filters create their own sub-menus.
