(Assuming you mean RAW)
No idea.
Works fine on my G4; OSX.4.9

What camera, what OS, anything changed since before (assuming it used to work)?

I had the same issue. I've upgraded the beta to CS3 and that seems to have gone away - a refresh brings up the thumbs, but now I've got hang problems at shutdown.

Running XP Home on an AMD 64 x2 w/2 gig ram.

Not sure it ever worked that well i.e. it takes its time, but recently it takes so long it seems it just isn't making thumbs at all

and another thing!

I am being driven mad by these programs!

What I have done is to assign stars to images with the imtention of nbacking up everything with one star and above. I have about 100 pics in my 'IN' foldr. Bridge is just too slow, taking ages or behaving oddly..so...I try to use LR to help but the two programs don't interact well enough (stars assigned inone don't necessarily show in another, or if they are going to show in bridge it takes so long I can't work out if it's done it or not

This is driving me crazy!

Alll I want to do is find the fastest way to inspect gederally, then closely for tech IQ,
assign stars, and back up all the stars

I have got completely confussed it can't be this complicated -- HELP!

(am going for a walk to cool off before I kick the computer:evil: )

Been there, done that (even went for that walk). What is your system setup? I was trying to run CS2 on an 800Mhz Thunderbird. Had plenty of memory and disk but just couldn't crank the CPU high enough.

i.e. its fiddle to work out how to get from a to b as described above:rolleyes: Grrr

Do you have your Cache set up for distributed or centralized files? Distributed should be faster. Make the switch if you haven't already.

yeah OK I know that bit, but there is no option specifically worded 'decentralise' and as I am not that Bridge savvy and don't really know what the term means I'd appreciate it if you could elaborate just a bit? :o

ps: I never used to have to purge the cache everytime I imported RAW files in CS2 version , but I do9 have to with tis version!

pps: when I double click on a RAW icon that has not generated a thumb it opens in 'Preview ' not ACR as it is set to do in the prefs!???

I don't recall exactly where it is located Simon but I can find it later. Try searching the help file for "distributed cache files" in the meantime.

Distributed cache files will place 2 folders in every folder that Bridge "looks" into. You shouldn't need to purge the cache much, if at all this way. I never had to.

When you double click a file in Bridge it should open ACR in Photoshop. If you right click and select Open in ACR it should open up ACR in Bridge. I don't know anything about opening in 'Preview'.???

Preview ia a Mac image viewing default program. I have set the prefs to open images in ACR from Bridge, and normally it does, but under the circumstances above it doesn't - big mystery, Might need to reinstall
