Beautiful captures of this little Hummer and a bird I am not familiar with as we only get the Ruby Throated here ( I am not complaining though :D )

Lol, everybody mentiones how the gorget of the black-chinned matches the flowers. I thought someone would notice the almost in-focus bee on the left (or the oof one on the right). I guess this IS the bird forum ;) :D

Since everyone here's so nice maybe it's ok to share a not-so-good pic of a Calliope Hummer, a rarity here. I basically stumbled over my feet trying to get his pic:

Good question :) Yes, I used a 400 f5.6 forthese shots, usually I prefer the 70-200 for hummers but the bushes were so big I needed more reach. The first one was the 400 alone, for the rest I added a 20mm extender to cut down on the minimum focusing distance a bit. They are basically uncropped (changed to 5x7 format).
